My favorite project to create was the sgraffito plate because I enjoyed doing all the different parts of the projects. Also, I really enjoyed carving my design into my plate. A major time I struggled was while I was making my sgraffito plate because I had to restart three times, because my plates kept cracking. I was able to overcome this struggle by continuing to restart and by not getting frustrated even when I had to repaint and retrace my design multiple times.
When I first walked into ceramics I knew very little, the only other time I had used clay was when I was in elementary school. Over this semester I learned a lot of different things, first how to make a pinch pot, then an exposed and a smoothed coil vase, next a sgraffito plate and finally how to make a monster. As the semester went on I think my projects got better, I started to make sure they were even and smooth and with each piece I tried to challenge myself more. Overall, I really enjoyed ceramics and I was able to create many different things and I liked how with each piece we could create anything and add any designs we wanted.
